To further enhance cooperation between Nankai University and enterprises, increase job opportunities for our students, and help them grow and succeed in their career, on May 24, Secretary of the Party Committee Ma Changhong, Vice Dean Chen Peng and Professor Liu Zhongbo of the School of Journalism and Communication led teachers and students to visit Wespace (Tianjin) Park. Wang Sijiang, Investment Consultant of Jinnan District, Tianjin, and Chairman of Tianjin Guofen Culture and Technology Co., Ltd., and Zhang Zhewei, Manager of the Government Affairs Department and HR manager Wang Xinling of Ming Yue Gu (Tianjin) Culture Technology Co., Ltd., received the teachers and students from the NKU.

Wespace (Tianjin) Park is located on Haitang Zhongchuang Street in Jinnan District, with one underground floor and 11 above-ground floors. The ecological segment of the park covers the entire pan-cultural and entertainment industry chain, including performance, entrepreneurship incubation, events and competitions, skill training, fashion and entertainment, film and television, variety show production, music, game creation and development, theme curation, large-scale events, as well as new media industries like e-commerce live streaming, MCN institutional incubation, short video production, and entertainment live streaming, in order to showcase cultural power in diverse product forms and boost the development of smart cities with abundant industrial contents.

Under the leadership of Zhang Zhewei, the teachers and students visited the multi-functional exhibition hall, live streaming conference room, game live streaming hall, and joint office area of the park to gain a deep understanding of the basic layout, business planning, industrial ecology, operation mode, and future development goals of the park. The diverse industrial projects and innovative concepts left a deep impression on the teachers and students.

Wang Xinling introduced the internship and job opportunities available to students. The university-enterprise cooperation is an important part in the development planning of the park. As the number of incubated enterprises in the park grows, more internship and employment opportunities will be offered to university students.

Chen Peng and Liu Zhongbo briefed their respective teaching and research development, and provided suggestions on the future of the park.

Ma Changhong introduced the current status of the School of Journalism and Communication of Nankai University. Universities have the basic functions of teaching, scientific research, talent cultivation, and society services. In the context of the development of new liberal arts, teachers and students of journalism and communication have to have a close contact with communities, rather than stay at the campus, in order to carry out more horizontal scientific research, and cultivate more talents who are adaptive to social development through internship practice. We hope both sides will extend our ties by identifying more cooperation possibilities and complementing our resources.
