On September 2 and 3, the School of Journalism and Communication welcomed the incoming freshmen of undergraduate class of 2027. The school attaches great importance to this event, and made early preparations, meticulous plans, and careful arrangements to provide heartfelt care and support for the new students in their journey to start a new chapter in their studies in the field of journalism and communication.
On September 2, 77 undergraduate students majoring in Chinese Language and Literature (managed by the School of Journalism and Communication) registered. On the afternoon of that day, the school leadership, along with the leaders from the School of Literature and the College of Chinese Language and Culture, visited the undergraduate student dormitories to meet with the new students. They inquired about the students' living conditions and feelings, expressing the hope that they would quickly integrate into the university life. The three schools jointly held a parents' meeting, during which they provided parents with information about various aspects of the college and also addressed any questions or concerns that parents had.
On September 3, 58 graduate students registered. Chen Peng, Vice Dean of the School of Journalism and Communication, and Li Hui, Deputy Secretary and Vice Dean of the School of Journalism and Communication, held a meeting with the new students, encouraging them to immerse themselves in their studies. They emphasized the importance of integrating reading, critical thinking, effective communication, collaboration, and research skills to become proactive, innovative, and well-rounded individuals in the field of journalism and communication.
The addition of 135 new students has infused the School of Journalism and Communication with renewed energy. The school will use the opportunity of their enrollment education, with a foundation in guiding ideology, to help the journalism and communication students write a youth chapter worthy of the new era, and encourage them to contribute their efforts to the development of the university.
