In order to study and implement the spirit of national work meeting of public communication and culture and develop a deep understanding of Xi Jinping Thought on Culture, teachers and students paid a visit to Tianjin Haihe Media Center and Tianjin People’s Publishing House for discussions and exchanging views on November 23. Chen Peng, Vice Dean of the School, Li Hui, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee and Vice Dean of the School, Xu Zhijiang, Secretary of Academic Affairs Office, as well as student Party members and student representatives from Enlighten Academy were also among the visitors.
At Tianjin Haihe Media Center, Yin Yongqing, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee and Vice President of Haihe Media Center, and Yang Bin, Director of the Publicity and Policy Coordination Department, received the visitors and briefly introduced the development process of Tianjin's broadcasting industry. The guests visited the news broadcasting studio, editorial office of Tianjin Daily and Jinyun Central Kitchen, and gained a detailed understanding of the historical evolution of news media in Tianjin, integration development as well as the visualization scenario support function of the Jinyun Central Kitchen.
At Tianjin People’s Publishing House, they visited Tianjin Reading School, Digital Fusion Studio, and Recording Studio. They learned in the book editing room, and collaborated with Liu Qing, Secretary of the CPC Branch and President, An Lianlian, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Branch and Deputy Editor-in-Chief, and Shen Haitao, Deputy General Manager of Tianjin People’s Publishing House had a talk themed “learning Xi Jinping Thought on Culture and Shoulder the Cultural Mission in the New Era”. Liu Qing gave a detailed introduction to the development history, industry status, and talent demand of Tianjin People’s Publishing House, hoping that both sides will continue to deepen their complementary advantages in project cooperation, resource sharing, and collaborative education.
Chen Peng pointed out that we should insist in the guidance by Xi Jinping Thought on Culture and shoulder the new culture missions in the new era. In combination with the current high-quality development of publishing sector and the inauguration of Publishing Research Institute of NKU, we encourage students to devote to publishing work, continue their spiritual lifeblood, and enhance cultural confidence.
The students also raised questions about whether the integration of AI and new media would have an impact on the publishing industry and academic writing, based on their command of journalism and communication knowledge. They also had discussions and exchanges with the staff of the publishing house.
This visit focused on comprehending the profound connotation of Xi Jinping Thought on Culture and put much emphasis on the practical value of the Thought in combination with the industry’s experience. Students broadened their horizons and gained insights through this activity, and they are resolved to take Xi Jinping Thought on Culture as a powerful ideological weapon and a scientific guide, polish their professional skills and assume the cultural mission in the new era.
