Both works express concern of ordinary people for the life and destiny, reflect social reality issues, and demonstrate a strong humanistic concern.

This competition has attracted more than 1300 teams from universities and media around the world, with over 6000 applicants. Nearly 3 million votes were cast online for the semifinal, making a new record.

The China Data Journalism Competition was founded in 2015 and has been successfully held for eight sessions. The competition practices the new concept of the Ministry of Education for liberal arts construction, adheres to the path of news and communication education combining literature, science and art, and cultivates excellent content producers for the country’s integrated media construction. The competition provides a platform for data journalism content producers to exchange ideas and receive trainings, and plays an important role in the deep integration and development of traditional Chinese media, fostering of new-type journalists, and building of journalism and communication as a discipline. It also leads the whole society to focus on trending news and data journalism production, injecting fresh blood into new coverage about the Chinese society.
