The School of Journalism and Communication held an evaluation meeting for the closing of the existing innovation training projects under the 2023 College Student Innovation and Research Program (CSIRP) and for the new projects under the 2024 Program. Professor Qi Dexiang, Professor Chen Ning, Associate Professor Zhou Caishu, Ms. Wang Ruoxuan and Ms. Zhang Huan from the School served as evaluators. Through material review, public posting, on-site defense and collective evaluation, the score and ranking of each project team finally came out.

The purpose of the evaluation meeting was to review and evaluate the project progress and achievements for the 2023 Program, as well as to evaluate the new projects and provide guidance for the 2024 Program. The evaluators provided professional feedback on the performance of each team and encouraged the teams to further improve their projects with a view to achieving better research results in the future.

The projects covered a number of research fields in journalism and communication, such as media convergence, social medial influence and communication regulations.

Some projects focused on the application and development trend of new media technology, and explored effective ways of using new media for mass communication and public opinion guidance in the digital age. The researches not only focused on theoretical discussion, but also involved empirical analysis, and proposed feasible communication strategies through data collection and analysis.

Some projects focused on media ethics and regulations, and proposed corresponding solutions to issues such as false news and copyright infringement in the media environment, so as to improve public media literacy and promote the construction of a healthy and orderly mass communication environment.

Some other projects studied the impact of social media on people’s cognition and behavior from the perspective of communication psychology, and explored the role of social media in shaping public perceptions and guiding social opinion through experiments and surveys.

The CSIRP innovation training project researches not only reflected the creativity and research potential of students, but also provided new perspectives and ideas for the development of the journalism and communication discipline. The guidance and suggestions from the evaluators not only enhanced students’ innovation awareness and research potential, but also helped them learn how to plan and implement their research projects in a systematic way. The evaluation meeting also served as a platform for students to show their research achievements and make academic exchanges, which helped to develop students’ academic expression and critical thinking abilities.
