On June 22, 2024, an interview team from the School of Journalism and Communication visited the World Intelligence Expo 2024 at the National Convention and Exhibition Center to get closer to the forefront of Smart Tianjin, understand its development, and communicate its power.

The Expo covers eight exhibition areas. The team conducted an interview at the NKU exhibition booth within the “smart life and digitalization, finance, and industry-education integration exhibition area”. Students from the research team introduced their products to the interviewers in detail from three perspectives: concepts, processes and outcomes of the research and development. During the interview, they also expressed their hope for greater public attention to NKU’s new research directions and the introduction of NKU’s smart solutions to various sectors.

“This is my first time visiting a comprehensive experiential exhibition that combines exhibition, interaction, and competition, and it is very innovative to hold the competition during the exhibition. Overall, I found it to be very educational,” said Li Yufei, a member of the interview team and a 2023 undergraduate student. “We as the interview team also paid special attention to the organizer’s event management and services, exhibition planning, and on-site experiences, fully immersing ourselves in the Expo as journalistic observers.”

Artificial intelligence is empowering the development of smart cities, and the intelligence industry has always been playing an important role in enhancing national competitiveness. Through the visit and reporting of the Expo, the interview team aims to provide insights into the latest development in the intelligence industry to more NKU students and broaden their horizons. Going forward, NKU students will apply their knowledge and skills actively in the development and construction of the intelligence industry, and contribute to the advancement of the intelligence industry both in China and globally.
