On September 6 when Teachers’ Day was around the corner, NKU 40th Teachers’ Day Commendation Conference, themed “Vigorously Promoting the Spirit of Educators and Accelerating the Construction of a Strong Nation in Education”, was held in the auditorium of the main building on the Balitai Campus. The Commendation Conference was attended by University leaders Yang Qingshan, Chen Yulu, Yang Kexin, Zhao Meirong, Liang Qi, Niu Wenli, Sheng Bin, Fang Yongchun, Bai Chengming, and Zhu Shoufei, and Members of the Standing Committee of CPC NKU Committee Yu Hai and Li Jun. The conference was presided over by Liang Qi, Deputy Secretary of CPC NKU Committee.
A number of commendation decisions were announced on the conference. Teacher Ma Ruijie from our school was awarded the title of “2024 NKU Outstanding Class Mentor Model” and received the award on stage.
Teachers from our school, including Zhong Shenjun and Shi Xiaoxi who were awarded the title of “2024 NKU Outstanding Class Mentor”, and Liu Yunfeng, recipient of the 10th NKU “Scholarly Mentor and Helpful Friend” award, were invited to attend the Commendation Conference.
In his speech, President Chen Yulu extended Teachers’ Day greetings and heartfelt gratitude to all faculty members. He pointed out that the century-long history of NKU is written by all NKU teachers, who commit to practicing the spirit of educators and strive to strengthen the nation through education and talent cultivation. “The teachers commended today vividly interpret NKU teachers’ mission of cultivating talents for the Party and the country, fully demonstrate the high moral character and commitment of NKU teachers in the new era. They serve as the strong support for NKU to make outstanding achievements in talent cultivation, teaching and education.”
Chen emphasized that NKU will thoroughly implement the instructions delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping in his important speech during his inspection of the University and always prioritize the construction of a high-quality expert teaching team as a fundamental task. He prompted the commended teachers to continue their outstanding performance and work with even greater enthusiasm and vigor to write a more brilliant chapter in the country’s education cause. He also encouraged the whole faculty team to take the commended teachers as examples, continue the fine traditions of NKU, practice the spirit of educators, cultivate strong professional skills and superb talent cultivation capabilities, actively participate in the construction of a strong nation in education, science, technology and talents, and make greater contributions in the journey of comprehensively advancing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation with Chinese path to modernization.
