Recently, the National Liaison Office of Publishing Discipline Co-construction announced the winners of the 2024 Publishing Discipline Outstanding Academic Papers, and the final results of the 2024 Publishing Discipline University Student Innovation and Creativity Competition. Teachers and students of NKU School of Journalism and Communication achieved outstanding results across multiple categories, winning the most awards among all participating universities.
In the Outstanding Academic Paper Competition, Ma Ruijie and Wang Yuting's paper, “From ‘Discovery’ to ‘Creation’ - A Study on the Reshaping of the Ecological Niche of Publishing Institutions in the Digital Age”, was awarded Outstanding Academic Paper and won the First Prize.
In the University Student Innovation and Creativity Competition, the project of Tian Yushu's team, Time Adventurer: My Archaeological Notes - A Scientific and Technological Archaeology Enlightenment Program for the Youth, won the First Prize. The project of Sun Zixin's team, The 'Blue Lotus' in the Mountains - A Science Education Book on Wax-printing, won the Third Prize. The projects of another 11 teams led by Cao Yixuanzi, Fan Yilin, Wang Xingying, Zheng Shiqi, Li Muyang, Gao Yahong, Fan Ling, Zhang Jiali, Zhang Jingyi, Zhang Yuqian, and Wang Jia were awarded Outstanding Works.
The School attached great importance to the National Competitions, and organized preliminary rounds of competition on campus. The School provided support to the teachers and students through various means, including holding competition mobilization meetings, inviting publishing experts and winning teams for guidance, and assigning teachers of publishing disciplines to provide mentorship. A total of 24 teams from the entire university submitted entries to the preliminary round of the University Student Innovation and Creativity Competition organized by the School. The works passing the preliminary evaluation were submitted to the National Competition. In the Outstanding Academic Paper Competition, 9 papers participated in the evaluation and were submitted to the National Competition.
The outstanding results of the National Competitions have demonstrated the strength of NKU's publishing disciplines in the country. The School will take these awards as an opportunity to continue encouraging teachers and students to participate widely in various publishing competitions and further enhance the reputation of NKU’s publishing disciplines.
