To promote the mental health of students, on November 12, the Youth League Branch of the Undergraduate Class One of 2023, Journalism and Communication Program, School of Journalism and Communication, held the autumn psychological counseling Youth League activity themed Expressing Wishes for Autumn, Striving for a Better Future Together at the one-stop student community of NKU's Jinnan Campus.
Li Hui, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of the School, analyzed common factors affecting students' mental health and introduced methods for relieving stress and improving mental health. She introduced the comprehensive mental health support system provided by the university's mental health education center, and encouraged students to proactively seek assistance when facing psychological distress to maintain a green ecology of mental health.
To enhance students' abilities to express and manage emotions, an Autumn Wishes Wall session was included in the activity. Students wrote their feelings about autumn on sticky notes and posted them on cardboard to create an Autumn Wishes Wall for the class together. This wall not only served as a platform for students' emotional release and self-expression, but also became a bridge for mutual understanding and support.
Students worked in groups to collect fallen leaves to create collages. During the creative process, they expressed their feelings about autumn and their love for life through the design of autumn leaves with full imagination and creativity.
It is reported that this is the first activity hosted by the secondary psychological counseling center of the School of Journalism and Communication. The School places great importance on students' mental health education, and cultivates students' moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and practical well-being to help them develop healthily with an optimistic mind in various forms such as mental health lectures, group counseling, development programs, and psychological counselor team development.
