On December 4, to cultivate a good academic atmosphere, the Youth League Branch of the Undergraduate Class One of 2023, Journalism and Communication Program, School of Journalism and Communication, held an academic exchange and sharing session titled “Chasing Dreams of Youth, Achieving Academic Success”, inviting teachers and senior students to provide guidance on personal planning and share exam preparation strategies and postgraduate recommendation experience.
Song Yan, Secretary of the School's Youth League Committee, suggested that students plan their future academic development paths and careers as early as possible, and choose suitable courses based on their goals. As the semester approached its end and the weather turned cold, Song Yan urged students to pay attention to their physical and mental health.
Xue Dexing, Class of 2021, shared his experience in preparing for the final exams from the three aspects of exam subjects, assessment subjects, and preparation plans. He advised students to focus on building up knowledge in daily study and well allocate their time between major assignments and final exam preparation. In preparation for subjects involving learning by heart, he suggested organizing materials in advance to facilitate efficient memorization.
Zhang Ruijia, Class of 2021, shared her experience with postgraduate recommendation. She suggested that students plan for improving English proficiency, choosing academic research direction, and participating in competitions during their sophomore and junior years to enhance their personal strengths. She addressed common challenges and coping strategies, encouraging students to maintain a positive attitude.
The event included a Q&A session, where Zhang Ruijia and Xue Dexing answered students' individual-based questions one by one. The students expressed that they gained a lot from the academic exchange and sharing session. The Youth League Branch will continue to organize similar activities in different forms to better serve the students’ practical needs.
