In further implementation of NKU's Implementation Plan for Upgrading the Undergraduate Talent Cultivation System and the fundamental mission of fostering virtue through education, the School of Journalism and Communication held its 3rd Teaching Innovation Competition at Xiushan Hall on the morning of March 12, marking another step toward enhancing the School's undergraduate education and teaching quality. Seven faculty members of the School—Liu Zhongbo, Chen Peng, Tian Yizhou, Wu Yike, Yu Mengli, Zhou Peiyuan, and Shi Xiaoxi—participated in the competition across four categories: New Liberal Arts-Senior Faculty Group, Associate Senior Faculty Group, Intermediate & Below Faculty Group, and Curriculum-based Ideological & Political Education Group. Through two key components of teaching innovation reports and on-site presentations, they showcased innovative ideas and methodologies in frontline pedagogy, delivering a dynamic display of teaching innovation excellence.

The seven faculty participants distilled years of teaching experience and reform achievements into thematic presentations. During the 15-minute live sessions, they engaged audiences through clear exposition, passionate delivery, rigorous analysis, and philosophical insights, creating a dynamic showcase of teaching innovation. They not only pinpointed key challenges in teaching practice, but also proposed actionable solutions, fully demonstrating our faculty's cutting-edge educational philosophies and rigorous teaching expertise.

The competition organizer specially invited Professor Zhang Wei, a distinguished teaching expert from the College of Electronic Information and Optical Engineering, to serve as the Chair of the judging panel. Professors Chen Na, Liu Yunfeng, and Zhong Shenjun were also invited to serve as judges. Four finalists were selected to represent the School in the university-level teaching innovation competition.

The School has consistently prioritized the teaching innovation competition as a strategic platform for advancing teaching reforms and faculty development. We have earned the Outstanding Organization Award for two consecutive years, and our faculty members have secured distinguished honors including one second prize at the municipal level, two first prizes, three second prizes, and two third prizes at the university level.
