On March 28, a delegation led by Jiao Yanting, Vice Chairperson of the University's Labor Union, visited the School of Journalism and Communication. Ma Changhong, Secretary of the CPC Committee of the School, received the guests. The two parties held discussions focusing on collaboration in labor union activities, services for model worker selection and recognition, and the establishment of a Loving Moms care room (for pregnant and breast-feeding staff).
Jiao Yanting provided an overview of the University Labor Union's operations and recent key initiatives. She commended the School's Labor Union for its outstanding performance in organizing distinctive faculty activities, participating in teaching competitions, and actively submitting labor union proposals. She also expressed gratitude for the long-standing support from the School's Party Committee to the work of the University Labor Union. Colleagues from the delegation introduced their respective functional responsibilities and work priorities for 2025. They encouraged the School to actively participate in various labor union activities, taking into account its distinctive characteristics.
Ma Changhong expressed appreciation to the University Labor Union for its guidance to the School's work. She noted that with the strong support and encouragement of the University Labor Union, faculty and staff from the School have actively participated in various university-wide activities, enhanced their skills, enriched their lives, and strengthened interpersonal connections. This has fostered a greater sense of belonging and fulfillment among faculty and staff, making them proud of working at NKU and committed to its development.
During the meeting, Jiao Yanting presented an appointment letter to Professor Chen Na on behalf of the University Labor Union. Professor Chen was selected as a member of the publicity team for the national initiative Model Workers and Craftsmen Visit Campuses, Ideological and Political Teachers Visit Enterprises organized by the National Committee of the Chinese Educational, Scientific, Cultural, Health and Sports Workers' Union. This not only represents an honor for the labor union organization and faculty team of NKU, but also fully demonstrates the active role of the labor union in promoting the spirit of model workers and advancing ideological and political education.
The delegation visited the School's Faculty and Staff Home, discussed the use and provision of relevant facilities, and conducted a needs assessment for the Loving Moms care room currently under active preparation by the School. The meeting was attended by Chen Na, Vice Dean of the School, and Ma Ruijie, Chairperson of the School's Labor Union, among others.
